What To Do With Your Headshot

We’ve had some clients ask us, “We have the headshots, they look great—now what do we do with them?” We want to share 5 things you should do with your headshot once we give you the file.

1. Update Your Social Media Profiles.

The first thing you need to do is update all your social media profiles: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. Wherever you’re active on social media you should have your image consistent across the board. Put your new professional headshot on all your social media profiles.

2. Update your business cards.

Have your business cards redesigned to have your headshot included. This shows that you’re professional. Not only that, but many of our clients are big into networking. When people get to know your face and know who you are, you’ll start to be recognized. You might find people at networking events asking, “Do I know you from somewhere?” And that gets the conversation going. But most importantly, it gives you the professional image and edge you’re looking for. We use Mary Topham with Bright Side Print and Promotions to do our business cards. If you’d like to reach out to her, she’s very professional and very reasonable, and we highly recommend using her.

3. Add it to Your Email Signature.

Update your email signature to include your headshot. One benefit of doing this is that when you meet people for coffee or potential business meetings, they know who to look for because they’ve seen your headshot in your email! This is a great way to make the introduction before the introduction.

4. Update Your Website.

If you’re self-employed and it’s just you, you may have it in your “About Me” section, or maybe on the home screen. You are not only branding your business, you’re also branding yourself. If you’re a business owner, you definitely want to have your entire team’s headshots, along with their job descriptions. This way anyone who researches your business doesn’t see just a brand and a logo, but they get to know people. A good example of this if you want to see it in action is at triumphroofing.net. We do their corporate headshots and if you go to their “Team” section on their websites you see all their employees. You get to know them, and it really gives them a sense of legitimacy, so that you feel that they’re reputable and trustworthy. So if you’re in charge of your corporate website, definitely have your team on there.

5. Spruce up your employee badges.

If you work for a larger company like Toyota, you’ll want to use headshots on your employee badges. These are the ID cards that employees use to access work sites securely. We do headshots for employee badges all the time for some of our larger clients, so if you know someone in the corporate world who needs their badges redone, we can definitely help them.

So those are 5 things you can do with your professional headshots. We appreciate your business, and if there’s anything we can do for you to improve your image, let us know! If you would like to book a headshot, or if you haven’t had yours updated in a while, go ahead and visit our schedule and pricing page! We look forward to serving you.
